AssistFlare uses a pre-defined Notion template to facilitate the creation of a knowledge base. Once you have connected a template to an AssistFlare knowledge base, you are free to start filling it with your content as your please.
There are a few gotchas however which you need to keep in mind so that everything keeps working as expect and the sync mechanism built into AssistFlare can still read your knowledge base content.
The Notion template is designed to have minimal setup required from you to configure it in AssistFlare. The template is broken down into these Notion tables:
  • Collections
  • Sub Collections
A collection can contain one or more sub collections. A sub collection can contain one or more articles.
The Notion tables are what are also known as databases in Notion.

Collection Table/Database Structure

The structure of a collection table/database looks as follows:

The two columns in the collection table/database (also known as Notion properties) are as follows:
  • Name - The name of the collection
    • Notion property type: Title
  • Description - The description of the collection
    • Notion property type: text
AssistFlare depends on this to read the content from your Notion knowledge base and sync those back into AssistFlare.

Sub Collection Table/Database Structure

The structure of a sub collection table/database looks as follows:

The five columns in the sub collection table/database are as follows:
  • Article Title - The title of the article
  • Article Description - The description of the article
  • Published - Whether the article should be published or not
  • Suggested - Whether the article should be suggested or not
  • Last Updated - Built-in Notion field for indicating the last updated time of the article
The name of the sub-collection is derived from the name of the table. In the above screenshot for e.g. the name of the collection will be: First Sub Collection Title.
