Setting up knowledge base menus
Learn about how to update your knowledge base header and footer menus

AssistFlare has a powerful menu editor which allows you to easily edit your header for footer menus. The location of the header and footer menus are as follows:
To edit the header or footer menu, from the knowledge base dashboard:
- Navigate to the
Look & Feellink under the Settings section from the left navigation menu.
- Click on the
Menussection which will open up the menu editor sheet.
- From the menu editor, you can select the menu you want to edit at the top:
Header MenuorFooter Menu.
- From the left menu editor pane, you can choose to add a menu item of type:
External Link,CollectionorArticle. - External Link: A link you want to provide which can be a link to an external site or even one to an internal article.
- Collection: A link to one of the collections you have within the knowledge base. AssistFlare will automatically determine the URL of the collection and link to it.
- Article: A link to one of the articles you have within your knowledge base. AssistFlare will again automatically determine the URL of the article and link to it.
- Drag the type you want to add from the left pane to the right pane.
- If you choose External Link, you need to provide at least the URL for the external link.
- For each menu item type, you can specify whether you want to open the link in a new tab or not
- You can re-order the items within a menu by dragging them using the drag handles on the left to the correct position you want to have them in.
- Once you are done, click
Back to Customizationsand hitSave Customizationsto save your menu.
